conundrum

so i have this problem....and i think i am addressing this to farley since i think he is the only one who looks at this blog anymore....if you do look at this blog leave a message....it doesnt have to day anything other than i look at this blog....i am just babbling....but when i try to make art i start out with an image in my head.....and i think to some artists this would be enough, but i feel like i have to learn more about the image and its possible origins before i do anything about it....which is probably why i have like a thousand flash sketches on my computer, but no real final product....so speaking to farley directly....i feel like you work in the opposite manner...you have an idea and things evolve from there.....i have an image and i try to make ideas out of it...except i make too many ideas and i get confused....i could use some guidance here....i need to get something done, but all my things are such basic image or animation sketches....all EPN users.....respond to this....i know this consernse you all.

whiel i think both ways are valid working methods, if one isn't resulting in finished products for you, try switching it up.
start w/ a concept and see where it takes you visually. it's always good to try changing up the way you work...

hey............sorry i bailed last night. i was drunk and got convinced to go somewhere else but it was really great to see you and this blog is fantastic, too bad i'm looking at it post-hey day, but let's bring it back.. in response to this post, i think you should web it out with associations, think about why you're into it, research is cool but it can go in million directions, focus on the ideas related to the image that really resonate and go from there. and don't get stuck on making things too tightly wound in history and concept.. you can choose what you you want to bring out, and being aware of potential associations others might make is important, but basically impossible to deal with in a complete way, and if you try you risk totally diluting diffusing and tangling your original reasons for being attracted to the imagery in the first place. maybe make a web and then highlight the path that's strongest
