google image improvement
hasnt been a post in a while...i dont know if this is new...i think it is...but google has this new thing called image labeler...and its like this not fun game they have where you get randomly paired with someone and you both get showed an image and you do free association with it...and then you get scored on the common answers...so i dunno...the game is pretty boring...but the outcome is gonna be fuckin awesome....i mean...even though it takes me like 60 seconds to load a page of google image i still spend like two hours on that shit every night at least....best thing on the internet...so im pretty psyched out of my mind about google image getting better...i mean i guess my problem is that i just searched "frozen werewolf carcass" and there were exactly zero hits...so what is that bullshit about?!

yeah...actually i have been playing it...this game is really good....although it sucks when you get paired up with a complete idiot...i also hate being paired with a coward...someone who wants to pass all the time...i hate cowards.
yeah, slow people suck, and passers blow...
i had one guy pass on a picture of the american flag! it was just a picture of the flag!! so lame.
my highest score so far is 1100. me and 'sillygrrl' rocked it. she's my new girlfriend, i decided.
sounds like you do have a new gf! yeah man...cowards...people keep passing on pictures of cars..like it happened to me a few times...maybe its like bad luck to describe a picture of a car...i mean...its not hard...you just kind of look at it...hmm...what does this remind me of...oh! a freakin car. come on. cowards. i find it really difficult to get a high score...so far my best is 800...but liike...it takes like a few seconds for the image to load...so i am losing a lot of time...it blows. i would team up with "sillygrrl"...but i think she's spoken for. crap!
The game does seem to be in a way about being as stupid and obvious as possible. Maybe with some complications it can match the best players, or have images only from certain topics (i.e. - offer all the images previously labelled as "painting" and "art" and have a special category called "google art image labeller" where we can go to label the images more precisely, etc, etc)
Does anyone else find that there are a hugely disproportionate amount of images of planets?
I'm pretty sure that "man" is the number one answer. I can see how this game might be useful, but I don't think there's going to be a lot of people searching for "man."
Anyway, my mind is wandering all over this "man" thing... The internet as a reflection of self, the whole "god created us in his image" bs, the fact that there are basically two people in the world, me and someone else.
Hopefully it will get passed the stupid obvious phase once enough people label images with the obvious answers.. ie the off-limits list shall grow.. I was thinking the exact same thing of getting to pick an art section so you can say picasso instead of 'picture'..
Couldn't they just let you pick your skill level? this way you could play against people who are trying to pick the hardest elements to label.. I've gotten the same images a bunch of times, which seems stupid.
But, i cannot stop with this labeling...
