JAZZ GHOUL'S VALLEY

Pizza people, Did this work?
Do i need a website to let people see a .swf?
I think the link lets you download it, provided you can view .swf's

This is a draft I did this past week.
I wanted to hear what people's first impressions are...
What do you hear? (there is no audio yet)
What do you think of the pace? (its an animation, not the jpeg)
How could i make the flute-flow look more like its FLOWING like a slurpee machine?
This is a twerk-in-progress.

hint: on mydatabus, once you upload a file, it must be made public (this way you can keep some files private). Check the box nect to the file, and choose "make selection public" from the drop down menu. After you do that go to the "MyPublicFiles" tab and click the file to display the link. AGAIN!

ok...i like this shit...the river looks good...i would suggest making the flute and the water flwoing from the flute seperate...so when the flute moves the water doesnt change angles...like its attached...just have it move up and down, not tipping..also..you needs to give that some texture...for reals..you know what rules? masking...toss a mask over that and then have some bubbles and shit flying out...and then make the point where the flow meets the river..more...dynamic like...watch THE FUGITIVE...there is some sweet spoutage in that movie...PROVASIC! and dude...the fingers in that animation are tiiiiiight.

Yea the fingers are rad. I would say pay more attention to where the fluid hits the river. Also, the profile of the fluid from where it comes out of the flute to where it touches the river should maybe undulate slightly -- not too much, because I like that it feels heavy -- just enough that it has a little bit of body to the motion.

You said slurpy, so if that's the case I think the foam where it is hitting the river might not work right now the way it is -- it looks light whereas I picture the fluid as being heavy.

The way the color moves down stream is really nice. Try adding some really thin highlights that suggest the fluid is really pushing downstream -- but the key here is subtle because it already looks really good.

Does anyone else think it might be cool to have some of it dripping out of the finger holes?

I would also experiment with having some flash loops right at the spout of stuff splashing out.

Anyway, even if you left it exactly how it is right now, I think it looks rad, awesome piece bro.

henry is right about all that. i am very psyched on this, though right now the smooth color change reminds me of screensaver...i think it should be choppy and maybe even kind of shitty looking, so its not so zen mellow.

but really, i would hang out with that wolf

you make it sound like ZEN MELLOW is a bad thing. its a flute and a river valley, man.

G-reg said...

Yea, I have to agree with Christian here.. if anything it should be more zen mellow (if that's even possible)

One things is the compositing between the water and the coast might benifit from waving pieces of grass or something to cover up the seams a little bit

hee hee...actually i like the seam between land and sea..and the drop shadow you put there looks FRESH...looking over this shit again i think maybe you should take that image back into photoshop and amp it up a bit..i think it would blend better with the animation if it were a bit bolder.
