I'm feelin' the whole collaborative DIY vibe around here so I figured it was a prime opportunity to call for submissions for this zine I am working on for Earth Day. I am hoping to launch this as the first of a series of zines. the occasion of earth day figured nicely into my mAd scientist plans since it's all about taking the initiative and making the world what you want it to be. but enough of all that touchy feely feely. So it's pretty much anything goes. Writing. Drawings. Prints. Stickers. Scientific tidbits. Photos. brainchild ideas. whatever you want to contribute to an issue centered around the earth. the one condition is that you gotta snail mail me your submissions. email me at saschagoldhor@gmail.com for my address. (i ain't plastering that shit over the www.) or send me your address, if you want a copy when it hits newstands.
BTW, anyone catch the making of We Are The World video? it's pretty amazing. Jane Fonda narrates. Everyone is on crack. And of course you get to hear the song like a gazillion times.
out of this world.

i feel you...i would love to contribute...but i already have yr address so dont bother...i like how you posted in the spirit of DIY...because i like it...i mean i think it commands tremendous respect...and i think a lot of people are unwilling to validate it...which is what is so fascinating about the internet...in particular YouTube...because its a place where people can make thier own stupid bullshit videos and people treat them as real product...i mean i like to think with constant emerging technology we are in a push towards complete DIY..i mean i really hope we are heading in a direction where everything is created by one person or a small group of people, and the world shuns big production as phony....i mean whatever...thats a dream...but you have to admit that DIY has gained exposure and credibility.
Hey Sasha -
I'm really sorry for being such a yutz about the Japan trip.
I'd like to hear more about the Earth Day zine concept. It sounds great and I'd really like to do something but I don't really know what you have in mind - it's such a HUGE topic. Maybe this is why more people haven't posted. It'd be really awesome if you would repost something that you have created specifically for the zine so we can get a better idea of what you are thinking and respond to that. Specificity is usually more universally relevant and responses are usually the result of provocation.
