EFF, they start the conversation with an exploration of 'compression' in science -- thought that was cool considering how you brought that up a while back.
Def worth watching full version. They know what they are talking about - it's great to hear them talk about the diff between random and algorhythmic generation of music (as can be applied to video games or perhaps visual art). Both of these guys are amazing - I love smart guys who aren't academic. Oh man - Will Wright has the coolest slides. Who is Christopher Alexander? The thing they said about the complexity of the generative system (the rules) of a game and the depth of the strategy is interesting. I think it is helping me directly - I've been exploring the idea of simplifying the rules of that "Pictocracy" video. I think this is helping me feel more confident about that. Oh man - this is so worth watching.
When you create a new post the "link" blank makes the TITLE a link.
It's a little confusing. Here's how to
create an HTML link like a pro. Copy and paste this crap into your
post/comments:
<a href="http://www.address.com">TEXT </a>
Replace the complete URL (web address) between the quotes and TEXT with what you want to appear as text in the blue link.
Congratulations...you're a nerd.
