I've been working more on that video 'cause it's Sat. night - what else is there to do? Here:
I didn't really make a lot of substantive changes. I despise YouTube's flash compression - the original looks sweet yo! - but I guess that's part of the challenge. The synch is off on this video by a quarter sec., which really sucks cause I put in all these little sound-synched cuts. If anyone knows how to deal with this, please let me know. I pretty much know the basics, although I have to say, exporting and compressing video is so freaking hard and takes a light year.
The song - I'm pretty pleased with it because it's rock, and rock is comprehendable. Like I said, I plan to make a few of these and the effect will be cumulative so don't nag me 'cause synch is almost as hard as exporting. There will be one noise song and one beatarific song to each.
It's late and I'm feeling mean. But I still want all y'all's advice on this project.

it looks/sounds great. the song works perfectly - it's less obviously kitschy and zany than something i would have encouraged/imagined (which is a good thing).

Ok. I think that Drew's comment on the previous post was interesting. I don't think he's right about it needing to look hard to make, but I think he's got a point about what people will simply turn off.
I think the sideways text is a problem, because then you have to tilt your head, and internet people are lazy.
I agree with shawn that 'what does it mean' is off-putting. People will be like, 'yo, this is the internet, why you tryin to get deep wit me?'.
Maybe the squareness of the drawing/animation should be messed with a little, so it doesn't look so powerpointy.
The music is perfect.
The slow voice is maybe to slow.
I don't you should put credits in the beginning. And they're so fast! Credits should go in the comment area widget thing.
It's sitting too much in the middle right now, where on one side it can go in the public access channel look, and the other it can look more Art Vid.
I got it. Why not draw all of the text by hand? I think the white Sans-Serif Font on a noise background is what's killing me. I would keep the noise background and draw the text. And then maybe animate it...
yeah man....try some fonts....i agree that things look good when you hand draw the fonts...or you can check dafont.com and get some cool fonts...fun fonts...so yeah...EPN has been slow...i also feel respnsible...but i dont really have anything to say right now...maybe someone should post some theory or some shit...pump some life back into this shit...

But, oh man - I just have to laugh at myself - I'm seriously "upset" about this fonts thing - what the fuck is wrong with you idiots? ARIAL ROUNDED MT BOLD IS THE WORLD'S MOST PERFECT FONT!!! Can't you recognize? Nobody understands me except Skillet.
No seriously. I think Final Cut is the number one pain in the ass program ever, and when people make suggestions it's like - don't you realize the endless hours of toil that went into creating that offset purple shadow behind the lettering? You know - the one you can't see cause of YouTube's flash compresion? Software is not a psychologically graspable problem either - like for half of today I've been trying to deal with the fact that Final Cut thinks there is no memory available when there actually is. And why? It turns out that the answer is FOR NO REASON AT ALL. Serious voodoo. Someone should invent a computer-shaped punching bag for the cubicle... Oh wait - I just c with a circled that shit.
I think it's interesting how people work. Like, when I'm "between projects" I can be at this point where there is seemingly endless freedumb to do whatever I want (as well as a certain sense of purposelessness) as though I were standing in the middle of a huge nexus of paths, but when I am actively doing something the choices kind of make themselves like 1 2 3 4. It's not time for nexuses, it's time for dominoes. And anyone who comes along with a nexus is just a domino frustrator.
So the question is - if I was going to be such a royal ass about friendly criticism, why did I post this shit? Maybe I thought I'd be able to transcend my limitless ego. But that might have been just a fantasy.
Anyway, I hope, reading this comment, you can just laugh at my fucko half (with me?) and don't turn down the heat on the crits.
